Mühlberg Castle is a hidden architectural gem of the Renaissance, built on the site of an earlier 13th-century castle. Notable events and visits, such as those involving Emperor Charles IV and the Battle of Mühlberg, a pivotal moment in the Reformation, have given Mühlberg Castle great historical significance.

The castle stood on the north bank of the Elbe River, between Torgau and Riesa, at a crucial crossroads and border point between Saxony, Brandenburg, and the then Kingdom of Bohemia. After the war, the region was isolated, and the castle remains a valuable legacy of German history.
